The 2nd induction training programme was organised for newly recruited faculty of Nirma University during May 23, 2016 – June 18, 2016. Twenty nine newly recruited faculty members of the constituent Institutes of Nirma University and ten participants from Smt Shantaben Haribhai Gajera Shaikshanik Sankul, Amreli participated in the training programme. The objectives of the programme were to acquire skills of effective classroom teaching-learning; learn values to perform as a teacher, learner and mentor; and understand the basics of conducting research. The modules covered during the programme were: effective classroom teaching and pedagogy; education and University; character building and personality development; resource awareness and knowledge generation; developing discipline specific and research skills. Theory lectures, group discussions, panel discussions, micro teaching, presentation by participants, mentoring by senior faculty members were carried out during the programme. The programme included site visit to Muni Seva Ashram, Goraj.
