Faculty Induction Training Programme 2025

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Nirma University, organised a month long “Faculty Induction Programme” during 19th May to 17th June, 2025. The programme was conducted in two phases. The Phase-I (19th May to 9th June, 2025) covered the were classroom sessions attended by a total of 26 faculty members of different constituent institutes of Nirma University i.e., Institute of Technology, Institute of Management, Institute of Pharmacy, Institute of Science, and Institute of Commerce. The faculty worked with a mentor in Phase-II(10th June to 17th June, 2025) which included development of discipline specific skill enhancement of them at their respective Institutes.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Rajnish Jain, Former Secretary, UGC & Professor & Dean (Management), Institute of Management Studies, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore on 19th May, 2025. He narrated importance of this kind of programme and highlighted how NEP-2020 revamp the education. Dr. Anup Singh, Director General, Nirma University presided over the function. He motivated faculty for moving towards aquiring skills to meet the need for teaching today’s student. Dr. Tejal Mehta, Dy. Director, IQAC given an overview of the programme.

This programme was conducted as a part of the university’s regular practice of facilitating faculty development. The rationale of the programme is to discuss techniques that can help the new teachers in developing skills for effective teaching-learning, improving their capabilities as a teacher and researcher. The Programme covered the sessions on topics like Indian Higher Education, Academic Leadership, Philosophy of Education & Student Engagement Pedagogies, Education for Sustainable Development, Being Effective, Curriculum Design in Higher Education, Presentation Skills, Nurturing Creativity, Social Media & Education, Performance Planning, Stress Management, Work Place & Classroom Etiquette and more. The programme content was delivered by around 45 eminent resource persons through a combination of theory, hands-on exercises, case studies, stimulating discussions and experience sharing. The experts were invited from numerous institutions having national and international repute like Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Bharati Vidyapith, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, the Centre for Environment Education, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, MICA etc. In addition to that, senior faculty members of Nirma University were also invited for sharing their experience in the programme.

Overall, this programme was a great learning experience for all the faculty members.
