The seminar was attended by approximately 100 delegates that included Directors, Heads, Deans and senior professors from the Institutions of Higher Education from different parts of India. The major emphasis of the seminar was discussion on initiatives leading to institutional excellence. This seminar was partly being funded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore and was supported by the British Council, India Division. The seminar was inaugurated by Prof Ray Land, Director, Centre for Academic Practice (CAP), Professor of Higher Education, School of Education, Durham University, UK. Eminent academicians from within the country delivered the sessions such as, Dr Sudhir K Jain, Director, IIT Gandhinagar; Dr Dheeraj Sanghi, Dean, Academic Affairs and External Relations, IIIT Delhi; Dr Sharad Mhaiskar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University, Mumbai; Dr R C Natarajan, Director, IRMA; Dr V M Gadre, Professor, IIT Bombay and Dr Krithi Ramamritham, Former Dean, RandD, IIT Bombay. Apart from these sessions, a panel discussion on “Quality Initiatives: Roles and Responsibilities” was also held. Dr Anup K Singh (Director General, Nirma University), Dr T Kishen Kumar Reddy (Director General, Pandit Dindayal Petroleum University) and Dr A R Jani (Director, Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre for Applied Research and Testing-SICART) were the panel members.
